Description

Sage is a herbaceous plant, with small flowers in various colours, grown as medicinal or decorative plan, originating in the South of Europe and in the Mediterranean regions. In Romania it is grown in the Southern area, around the Danube.

Use

The plant’s leaves have therapeutic uses in human and veterinary medicine, in traditional and cult medicine.

In dermatology and cosmetics, the leaves and the inflorescences with the leaves of the sage are used, under the form of tincture, tea, decoction, eau de toilette or hydroalcoholic extract.

It is used as a disinfectant, in excessive sweating of the feet and many more, in tooth abscess, periodontal disease, etc.

Sage has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-sweating, calming properties.
